Exodus Wallet Acquires W3C Corp to Expand Crypto Payments Infrastructure
Exodus, a leading self-custodial crypto wallet, is making a strategic push into global payments with its acquisition of W3C Corp. The deal positions Exodus to control every stage of on-chain transactions—from issuing to settlement—without relying on third-party providers.
The MOVE signals Exodus' ambition to dominate the payments stack in key markets like the US, UK, and EU. By integrating W3C subsidiaries Monavate (card issuing), Baanx (merchant services), and Grateful (stablecoin rails), Exodus aims to offer end-to-end solutions for both retail and enterprise users.
Stablecoins are central to this strategy. As demand grows for dollar-pegged assets in cross-border transactions, Exodus plans to expand support for multiple stablecoins while developing clearer revenue models around its payment infrastructure.
